Condition Info:

Overall, this 1954 Topps Complete Set presents in VG-EX to EX condition, but the majority of the cards exhibit a lower technical grade due to paper/paste residue on the backs of the cards. The fronts are absolutely gorgeous! Additionally, many of the cards exhibit light to moderate curling. Scans of the major stars as well as some of the commons are included to give you an idea of the condition (Front and back scans included–see the product gallery for a larger number of scans).

Condition Assessment:
Aaron RC G+ (Surface impression, edge wrinkle, off center, light residue on back)
Banks RC VG-EX (Nice card. Decent centering, which is usually really tough on this card. Some weak corners, very light wrinkle on back)
Kaline RC G (Sport of paper loss on bottom/left corner, residue on back, crease free)
Robinson VG (Crease Free, nicely centered, wax spots on front, residue on back)
Williams 250 G (Crease free, front presents VG-EX, paper still on back)
Mays VG (Crease free, nicely centered, weak corners, light residue on back)
Williams 1 G (Light wrinkles, presents well, some paper loss on back)
Most of the cards in this set exhibit the paste residue or paper adhered to the backs of the cards. It looks like the bulk of the cards were pasted into a scrapbook or something similar, which greatly detracts from the technical grade. The good news, though, is that the fronts are generally very strong, and the majority of cards are completely crease-free.

How does it work?

Maybe you have done box/case breaks before where you buy a random slot or team and then someone busts up the case or box live online while you watch. This group set break is the same concept, but there is a guaranteed checklist of what will be included–an entire 1954 Topps complete set! That’s right, 250 slots are up for sale in this set break, so some lucky winner will get a Hank Aaron rookie card for just $9.99! Others will take home stars like Ernie Banks (RC), Al Kaline (RC), Ted Williams, Willie Mays, or Jackie Robinson. Every slot will receive a random card from the set, and the randomization will be broadcast live!

If you haven’t participated in one of my set breaks before, check out this YouTube video of one of my recent set breaks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oH7Cxs7ahw&feature=youtu.be

Rules:

1. Payments are to be made via PayPal, check, or money order. Payment is due on 3/28, so if you are planning on making a payment by check, please purchase early and send immediately. Shoot me an e-mail letting me know the check is in the mail, so I can be looking for it. burl@burlssports.com If payment is not received by 3/28, your slots will be surrendered and resold.

2. Each purchase is for one slot in the set break. You are guaranteed to receive a card from the 1954 Topps Complete Set for each slot you purchase.
3. The random drawing will be done live via online video (ustream.tv/channel/burlssports-com) and recorded for those who won’t be able to watch it live.

4. Once you purchase a slot on the listing, you agree to pay for the spot reserved.

Communication:

1. Once the group set break is full, you will receive an e-mail notifying you to send your payment. After this e-mail notification is sent out, you will have three full days to submit payment. If payment is not received within that time-frame, you forfeit your slots and your slots will be resold. (Note: You can pay for your slots before the break is full if you desire.)

2. Once all slots are sold, you will receive an e-mail detailing the broadcast information for the set break (Likely, 3/30/2015). If you are unable to view the break live, the video will be posted on this site for your viewing convenience.

Thank you for your participation in this 1954 Topps Complete Set group break.
